Dennis has been an active member in Kiwanis for 22 years. His home club is still Santa Clara, where he has developed strong friendships. Even though it is much more conducive for his business if Dennis were to relocate his home club membership into an Alameda County club, that is not the purpose of Kiwanis. Kiwanis holds family values as a strong part of its beliefs and to the degree, the family of fellow club members means more than any business opportunity.

In fact, while Dennis was the Lt. Governor for all the Kiwanis Clubs of Santa Clara Valley in 1995-96, his message to all 600+ Kiwanis members was: "God First, Family Second, Business Third and then Kiwanis."

With this wining attitude, membership involvement rose to an all time high and in one fiscal year as Lt. Governor, the clubs under Dennis' leadership raised over $500,000 in cash and volunteer hour equivalents for the community.
