Benefits Available:

Benefit planning has dramatically changed in the last four decades, since the 1970's. Whereas in the 1970's the novelty of providing employee benefits in lieu of additional compensation and to avoid employees forming unions, today medical benefits are virtually mandatory/expected.

Medical

The most consistent question that a prospective employee asks of a future employer is whether or not they offer medical insurance for themselves and their dependents. Invariably the cost of dependent coverage is now being paid by the employee through pre-tax dollars with the employer paying most if not all of the employee's share of the premium.

There is a special way of setting up a plan so that many employers do not have to pay for the employee's share of medical insurance premiums. Unfortunately, most brokers do not have the experience to know how. We do. In 1976, the market was flooded with so many insurance carriers that employers jumped every year to a new plan with lower rates and better benefits. By the turn of the decade, the century and the millennium, everything you thought you knew had changed.

Today the carriers listed below are the most significant players in the market, if not the only solid carriers in the market. Today, employers and employees are not looking at better benefits. They are looking at lower premiums and whether or not a carrier is solid enough to pay the claims.

These are the carriers we represent:

Pre-Paid Medical Plans

It is important to note that you are starting to see many advertisements for plans that cover your visits to the doctor and provide you with an offer for discounted medical services. The rates are so cheap, who wouldn't jump at these plans. DON'T! These plans are not insurance plans and they stop paying at the worst possible time - when you have a major claim.

Dental

Providing dental benefits versus offering dental insurance are two wholly separate issues. In small newer companies where the situation is right, it is less expensive to self-insure dental coverage, but it does come at a price. A typical self-insured plan breaks down if major ongoing work is needed.

However, when small group dental plans are purchased, they often times include waiting periods that limit benefits for major work such as crowns, bridges, dentures. These waiting periods can be waived in certain situations.
In the over ten employee market, the options considerably open up. The concept of Preferred Provider dental plans similar to medical plans has become very popular. Let us help you design a competitive dental plan that truly meets the needs of your situation.

Here is a partial list of some of the carriers we proudly represent:

Income Protection

If you were to ask what the number one employee benefit is, 100% of the time the answer is medical insurance for health care cost protection. The number two benefit desired but often never offered is long term income protection - disability income insurance.
This market is really dominated by only a few carriers and there is a very solid reason. It is absolutely critical these carriers have huge liquid reserves. When we meet we can discuss the importance of this.

The carriers in the market who we believe are 100% creditable are:

Vision

Vision benefits have become very popular with the new methods for providing corrective vision. Only one carrier dominates the market and that is VSP - Vision Service Plan. Other carriers who offer vision benefits do so through limited networks and with discounted services. Let us help you design a competitive benefit that will be well-received.

Life and AD&D

Of all the benefits you can offer employees this one is the least popular because no one who is covered ever sees the benefit. Therefore, it tends to get overlooked. We believe that is incredibly wrong.

Employers today have become to be seen as protectors through benefits and not just a pay check. Larger employers offer multiple levels of salary for life insurance coverage. We can design a plan that matches the needs of your employees instead of seeing you sold a large amount of life insurance just because it is inexpensive.

There are two many carriers in this market to list them all. That should tell the average person just how profitable it is to sell life insurance for the insurers.

Other Benefits

There are many other smaller benefits with limited carriers in these markets. We can and do recommend them in certain situations.

We are very proud to be able to offer an absolutely free highly advanced Human Resources Software Package called Health Connect Systems. Here is the link where you can go and review the program.
